An oral recording of "An Evening in the Archives" meeting at the Palmerston North Public Library (on the corner of Main Street and The Square). Talk is about the archives, and the Consumers' Co-Operative Society (Manawatu) Ltd and their records which are donated to the City Archives. Speakers include Ian Matheson (archivist), Barry Parker (Board Chairman of the Co-Op), Paul Rieger (Mayor of Palmerston North), and Margaret Tate (lecturer at the College of Education) who introduces a video on the history of Palmerston North.At this meeting Barry Parker also handed a cheque to the Mayor for the preservation of the Co-Op archives.
