An article written for the "New Zealand Camellia Bulletin" about the camellia garden at the Esplanade gardens. Gives a brief history of the gardens and in particular the development of the camellia walk.

The Victoria Esplanade was opened in 1897. it lies along the banks of the Manawatū River. Camellias were first planted to protect the Rose Garden in 1968.
