Farmers Mutual Insurance Group building, Queen Street

Description

This building was the Head Office of the then recently formed Farmers' Mutual Insurance Group at 138 Queen Street, Palmerston North. The nation-wide group was the result of a merger between three insurance companies, the Primary Industries Insurance Co. Ltd, and the South Island and the Tarankai Farmer' Mutual Insurance Associations. See also: Guardian, 24 July, 1979, pages 12-13.
