The building at centre, built as the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, became the Palmerston North Borough Council offices. In 1944-1945, a new building was built (now Square Edge). to the right of this building can be seen the All Saints Church,constructed in 1897, then the Grand Hotel,built in 1906.
