The laying of five chains of concrete road on Rangitikei Line, near the corner of Boundary Road (now Tremaine Avenue). This view looks east with Boundary Road in the background. Members of the Kairanga County Council inspect the newly laid concrete road. The road was laid down by George Craw, an enthusiast for the use of concrete, for the cost of $30.00 per chain. It was the only stretch of concrete road ever constructed in the Manawatu District. Driving the car on the right is Joe Linklater (County Councillor).
