The Wahakarongo Hall was constructed on Napier Road in 1899. It was the site of many social activities of the district, and served as a classroom for Whakarongo School in 1902, 1940 and 1955. It was extended and modernised over the years until a new school and community hall was built on the Whakarongo School grounds in 2005, and this Whakarongo Hall sold.
