Sylvia Haycock was a long time employee of C M Ross, beginning with the firm in 1902. She was also made a shareholder in 1915. Miss Heaton was an ex-buyer for C M Ross, who retired in 1940. C M Ross Co. Ltd was one of the foremost department stores of Palmerston North and operated in The Square from 1883 until it was sold to Milne and Choyce in 1959.
