Children feeding the ducks at the Butterfly lakelet in The Square. The lakelet was created in the shape of a butterfly in 1909, and the fountains were added in 1966.

The photograph was taken by Alf and Merlyn Drew, to test equipment for their business, Photo Instruments Limited which operated at 55 Princess Street from 1959-1989.
