This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 8 July, 1963. "This Black Orpington cockerel looks proud -- and with good reason. He was judged the best bird in the Manawatu Poultry and Pigeon Club's annual show held on Friday and Saturday. The bird is owned by Mr W. Hogg."
