To Miss P Oram, Cass Street, Kaiapoi, Christchurch.
Dear Phoel (?)
Pleased to receive mother’s letter with all news, will answer later so sorry to hear about poor Dot, must write to Milly, hope you enjoyed the ball wonder how Topsy (?) will like her change. This is the street Evan lives in only at the extreme end on the left, the church on the right is the English, only it is now shifted back owing to building in front, Raining hard, Tom being away we three women all roasting over a big fire, love Minnie ."
