"Fleece of the Year Competition"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 22 June 1961 "The judging for the Massey Agricultural College "fleece of the year" took place in the college wool room yesterday and today. The 58 entries included fleeces from all major wool breeds in New Zealand - Merino, Corriedale and Romney - and had come from all over the country. The results of the judging will be released at the college's annual wool conference on July 4, 5 and 6. The photograph shows the two judges, Mr. R. Moore (Wellington, left) and Mr. D. Stewart (Christchurch, right) examining a stud Corriedale fleece from Canterbury. In the centre is Mr. A. Chadwell, a college wool instructor."
