This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 27th January 1966 "The noted British traffic authority, Professor C. Buchanan, arrived in Palmerston North today to spend five hours in the city. Professor Buchanan, who holds the chair of transport at the Imperial College of Science and Technology at London, is having informal discussions with the City Council concerning aspects of the city's master transport plan. The photograph shows Professor Buchanan (centre) with Cr. D.T. Spring (left) and the town clerk (Mr. A.M.P. Hall) on the balcony of the new library."
