These unpublished images were taken alongside an image that was captioned in the Manawatū Evening Standard on 17th December 1973.
"Organisers and helpers raise the poster that will be the front-piece on the Palmerston North Clock Tower for Sunday night's carols by candlelight service. The service is being presented by churches in conjunction with the P.R.O. Words for the carols will be contained in a lift-out in Friday's 'Evening Standard'. Music for the festival will be provided by the Salvation Army band, with singing from an inter-Church choir, the Maranatha choral group from Palmerston North. Seating will be provided for 2500 people."
