This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 18 July, 1959. "M. I. Griffin (foreground) and C. I. Goss the riders of Skipper and Barrice respectively, are seen walking to the birdcage with a St. John Ambulance assistant after they were dismounted at a hurdle in the first race at the Manawatu Hunt Club's annual steeplechase meeting today."
