Description

This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28th December 1965 "Rough seas aggravated by a gale force wind lashed some inland at Foxton Beach today. The members of the Foxton Life-saving Club had to shovel sand away from the club's driveway before they could drive the surf life-saving van out. Sand carried by the strong wind had built up along the edges of the road causing difficulty to some motorists. They wind was one of the strongest experienced at the beach for some time."
