This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28th December 1965 "Rough seas aggravated by a gale force wind lashed some inland at Foxton Beach today. The beach was all but deserted except for this Feilding family, who, despite the conditions, were seen enjoying themselves along the beach front."
