West End School, College Road, was opened on 1 July 1913 to cope with the burgeoning school age population of the town. Mr A O Buchler was appointed headmaster; Mr F C Campbell , first assistance; Miss H Park, Infant Teacher; Mrs Finlayson, Custodian.
