These images were taken for the December 17th, 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper, the first of which was published with the caption: “Palmerston North's highly successful August motorshow had its sequel last month when the city's Rotaract Club handed over its profits from the show to the Salvation Army and the Fishbowl youth organisations. The club's president-elect, Mr Rhys Mason, is pictured here making the double presentation of $1974 each, to Major Louisa Cox (from the Salvation Army) nad [sic] Alec Gage, acting manager of Fishbowl's new youth centre in the Maori Battalion Halil. The Rotaract club organised the huge motorshow to help the Vishbowl [sic] project, and was helped by the Salvation Army. The club's president, Mr Chris Blair, presented $70, raised from another project, to Mr Howard Andres, of the Manawatu-Oroua branch of the SPСА.”
