Opening of Ashhurst Plunket Rooms
- Description
-
This photograph shows the opening of a new clinic for the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society on Cambridge Avenue in Ashhurst. The woman standing in the front is Hannah King, holding her son Ian.
The Manawatu Evening Standard reported that: "Five years' strenuous effort, involving the raising of the sum of £1300, culminated in the official opening of teh new Plunket rooms at Ashhurst on Saturday afternoon. The ceremony, which was well attended, was held in pleasant sunshine at the front of the building, and the rooms were offically opened by Lady Oram, patroness of the branch" (MES, 6 December 1954).
