This image ran in the Manawatu Evening Standard on August 24, 1987 with the caption, "Here she is! Palmerston North's Tulip Queen, 1987, is 20-year-old Chris Gerritsen. The Dutch beauty was one of five who competed for the title on Saturday night, in an annual event organised by the Palmerston North Dutch society. Alice Zentveld, 18, was runner-up.
