The photograph was taken a few chains south-west of Opawe Road and shows the squared sleepers being sledged out of the bush to the road. The owner and driver of the horses and sledge was Mr. Sam Lane. The men in the photo are, from left to right: Sam Lane; George Wagstaff; Ernest Wagstaff (sitting); and unknown.
