Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24 June, 1963. "The Bainesse School jubilee functions at the weekend attracted wide interest. In the top photograph are the first-day pupils: Front row, Mesdames G. Lancaster, M. Haeata and L. Prebble; back row, Messrs P. Vautier and E. Vautier. In the bottom photograph, boys will be boys no matter how old they are. Here Messrs F. B. Waller and B. C. Waller--1921 pupils at the school--show how children travelled to school in those days."
