"Chatting over the memorable events of 70 years ago when they attended the Mangatainoka School together as neighbours in Short Road are three of the eight first-day pupils who attended the 70th Jubilee celebrations of the school yesterday. From left they are Mr R. Bly (Woodville) and his sister, Mrs M. Davis (Paekakariki), and Mr P. C. Peterson (Pahiatua)."
