William Edwards (1864-1945 )operated a bakery business in Palmerston North for 25 years, with a shop in George Street near the Mayfair (Odeon) Theatre. About 1920 he sold his bakery business in Grey Street to Mr G. Fairey and became caretaker of the Terrace End School and baths. He married Agnes Stevens Buick (1872-1955) in 1889 in Palmerston North, but lived in Hawera and Wanganui before settling in Palmerston North. Agnes Edwards was the daughter of James and Helen (or Ellen) Buick (nee McEwen) and came to the Manawatu district c1878. They had 13 children and lived at 602 Church Street, Palmerston North.
