Studio portrait, probably depicting Bob Eastwood and another soldier
- Description
Robert (Bob) Edward Allen Eastwood (1895-1973), served with the 4th Battalion 3 NZ Rifle Brigade from May 1916 until July 1918, when he was discharged on medical grounds. The inscription on this postcard reads: "What makes me so cranky round the eyes is going in off the street into the light. From darkness to light. [Illegible - possibly confrère]. You will have to get a P.C. album for my photos alone if I get it taken many more times. There are wounded stripes on our arms. Commonly known as gold stripes.
Robert." This photograph come from a collection connected to his brother-in-law, Henry Ward, who served with the New Zealand Medical Corps, No. 3.
