The Polish Army League was founded in Palmerston North in 1941 at the instigation of Mrs Ann Jacques. She had heard about the loneliness of Polish soldiers serving alongside NZ troops during WWII and thought to start an organisation to write to, and send gifts to, the soldiers. The League spread to many parts of New Zealand, with individuals, organisations and groups all contributing to the cause. This minute book includes minutes of meetings, news clippings, photographs, correspondence and more, following the work of the League from 1941 - 1947, including information of their connection with the Polish Children's Camp in Pahiatua.
