This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 17 September, 1959. "Mrs S. A. Free, of Tokomaru, adjusts one of the exhibits she is showing in the Palmerston North Horticultural Society's daffodil show at the Astoria Ballroom today and tomorrow on behalf of her husband. Mr Free, who has been exhibiting for 20 years, last week won the Empire championship held at Gisborne." Another photo associated with this article was published on the same day and on the 5 September, 1959.
