This image was taken (but not used) for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24th January 1966 "Superb batting, such as this magnificent stroke for six over mid-wicket, carried V. Pollard to his third century in four Hawke Cup matches on Saturday in the match against Rangitikei. Pollard was only a few runs from his century at this stage and he carried on to be unbeaten on 110 when play was washed out. His innings included 12 fours and a six. Manawatu were 267 for four wickets at the close of play."
