John Christian Richter and his family

Description

Johan Kristian Richter (1831-1904) was born in Norway. He anglicised his name to John Christian Richter after migrating to New Zealand. He married Harriet Frances Rae (1855-1942) in Sydney. The couple had eight children: Jorgen Robert Richter (1879-1955); John Osmund Richter (1881-1925); Massie Mary Richter, later Nursey (1883-1966); Nesta Ingeborg Richter (1884-1945), later Matthews; Ronald Alwyn RIchter (1886-1968) Ola Gordon Conrad Richter (1888-1968); Arnold Wilfred Richter (1889-1966) Gyda Christine Richter (1890-1968); and Thyra Cecil Richter, later Evitt (1893-1979).
