Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 24 June 1961 "Some of the volunteers helping to sort rubbish collected by the Jaycees in the second half of their city spring clean which concentrated in the southern half of the city today. About 50 workers helped, and the task was made easier through the use of about eight City Council trucks. All the paper collected was given to the Hokowhitu Scouts, and it was estimated that they would benefit by about £40."
