Labour Leader Bill Rowling stopped in at Palmerston North on Friday the 17th of November, while travelling between Masterton and Levin on the election campaign trail. He caught up with Labour candidate for Manawatu Trevor de Cleene and candidate for Palmerston North Joe Walding for a game of pool over lunch, visited the Manawatu Evening Standard offices and got a haircut. In an interview, Rowling said he preferred talking to people rather than appearing on television and referred to the televised leaders debate planned for the next day, stating “I hope it will bring to light that the present Government is floundering.”
