Description

Accompanying information reads: “Packing Out The Seed”. The worst part of the growers’ troubles is over. By this picture we see the seed has been packed to where the road commences and is being loaded up to start on its journey to the seed-cleaning machines at Palmerston North.” G A Hart states that the photograph was taken on Thomas Harrison’s property on Pohangina Valley West Road, about two miles south of the Utuwai School. Mr Thomas Harrison is standing on the far right, Fred Hart is standing third from left (with hands on hips) and Jack Craven is driving the wagon. The man in the left foreground, by the horse’s head is possibly Peter Jensen.
