Sister Mary Quirke, of the Sisters of Mercy Convent, Palmerston North, celebrated her silver jubilee 29 August 1980. She was born in Palmerston North and educated at St Joseph’s High School. She then went to Wellington Teachers College and Massey University. sister Mary taught in Wellington, Wanganui and on the West Coast before returning to teach at St Mary’s.
