This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 15 August 1960 "This macropcarpa log measured 21ft 6in. In circumference and contained 3700 feet of timber. It is probably the largest log milled in the Manawatu district for 30 years. It came from the Ohakea area and was brought through the city on Saturday by Mr. T. Hemra, who is standing in front of the log to give an indication of its size. Though the largest the mill has handled, it posed no problems."
