"Elegant Reminder of Royal Occasion in City" Banquet Table and Two Chairs
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28 June 1961 "Now adorning the Palmerston North City Council chambers, this magnificent banquet table and the two formal chairs behind it were used by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the civic reception held in the city during the Royal tour seven years ago. They have now been presented to the city - the chairs by Messrs. Milne and Choyce Ltd, and the table by two anonymous donors." The table and chairs are currently located on the 2nd Floor Reading Room of the Palmerston North City Library.
