"Overcome by Day at the [A.&P.] Show"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 07 November 1960 "The stock, the machinery, the sideshows and the heat proved too much for this little lad at the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association's Show on Saturday. The lure of a mattress retailers stall was too great an attraction. While mother was making an inspection of some latest household appliance he sat down only for the sandman to pay an early visit. His mother sat with him for nearly an hour, while the attendant of the stall revelled in the free advertising the child was unconsciously providing."
