A block of land was donated to St Luke's Luteran Church by Mr Jens Petersen in 1977, and 13 units for singles and couples were completed in 1979. The complex was designed by Mr Roy Price, a member of St Luke’s congregation, Mr Milton Brogden was the supervising architect and the builder was Ian Dickson. The homes were dedicated by Pastor R J Weibuschat 14 October, and Brian Elwood, Mayor, officially opened the complex and a plaque in the centre gardens was unveiled.
