This photograph shows Lieut. F D Opie, Capt. R H Whalley and Lieut. W R Kells in uniform. Francis (Frank) Dudley Opie was the first director at Palmerston North Technical College. He held the role from 1909-1924. He also served as a volunteer officer in the Territorial Forces from 1913-16. The image comes from the school archive of Queen Elizabeth College.
