Correspondence between the Women's Refuge Centre committee and the Palmerston North City Council, concerning the establishment of a refuge in Palmerston North. The refuge was established by Adrienne Baird and Wendy Craig in 1979 and initially located in rental accommodation on the corner of Tremaine Avenue and Rangitikei Street. Letters discuss the aims of the Women's Refuge Centre and the possibility of them taking over the management of the Emergency House at 20 Linton Street. Some letters from this collection have not been digitised for privacy reasons.
