This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 23 May, 1959. "The Palmerston North members of the Manawatu Rugby team to play Wanganui are seen prior to leaving for the River City this morning. Standing on the left is the chairman of the selection panel (Mr V. C. Holland) and on the extreme right (standing) is Mr G. Edmonds, a member of the union. The Feilding players were picked up on the journey."
