This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 05 September 1960 "Retiring after 178 first class matches, the captain of the Wairarapa representative Rugby team, A. Blake, is carried off the field by his jubilant team mates at the conclusion of their match against Manawatu on Saturday. Wairarapa caused an upset in the match to beat Manawatu by eight points to six."
