Description

This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 13th February 1963. "Last night saw the termination of 30 years of service with the Palmerston North branch of Woolworths (N.Z.) Ltd., for Mr O. S. New. At a reception held in his honour by the management and staff from many branches, Mr New received a cheque from his employers, to mark his retirement. He was also presented with a garden parasol by his former colleagues. Mr and Mrs New will spend their retirement at Cooper's Beach, North Auckland. Mr A. Camerson, the district manager of Woolworths, presented the cheque on behalf of the company and also presented Mrs New with a bouquet. From the left are, Mr V. H. Beadle (personnel manager of Woolworths); Mr New, Mrs New and Mr A. Cameron (district manager)."
