The Returned Servicemen’s Association of Palmerston North bought the former 'Times' newspaper building on Broadway Avenue in 1965. Renovations resulted in three shops, RSA offices, a lounge, billiard room and a dance/ reception hall. It was opened as the RSA’s new clubrooms in December 1966. The Palmerston North City Council bought their former building on the corner of Cuba and George Street.
