This photograph shows the corner of the Square that leads on to Broadway Avenue (then Broad Street). Hannah's Footwear (established in Palmerston North, 1899) occupied this site c 1922-1932. Joe Kwong Lee established himself as a fruiterer and green grocer from c 1896. The three central buildings in the photograph were demolished for the new Waldegrave building in 1932. Hannah's then took over premises in that building.
