This early postcard shows four carriages stopped in The Square. From left: the side of the Bank of Australasia; W Reed Butcher; Red Bird Cycle Engineers; E Gascoigne: Grocer, Baker, Caterer; Dresden Piano Company, W Bennett Stationery; Christopher Smith, drapery; the second post office in Palmerston North. The old Post Office was moved to the Victoria Esplanade and converted into tea rooms in 1989-1990.
