This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 11 February, 1964. "The weekend heat was no trouble to these Palmerston North Scouts. Stopping for a rest in the Manawatu Gorge on Saturday while on a30-mile tramp for their trampers' badges, via the Wharite trig (3032ft). They were carrying sleeping gear, food and clothing for two days. From the left are S. Robinson, P. Johns, R. Hall and J. Hutchinson."
