Description

The former Voss homestead stands on the corner of Karere Road and the Palmerston North to Foxton highway. The original two-storied cottage still stands as built over 90 years ago, forming the front part of the present house. It was the home of Max and Maren Voss who emigrated to New Zealand c1873. After marrying in Foxton in 1874 they bought a block of bush-covered land at Karere from A & S Ingram, where they built this home.
