"Parents Visit Play Centre"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 29 April 1963 "Saturday morning was a busy time at the Central Play Centre in the Y.W.C.A. lower hall. The centre has a roll number of 18 and there were 16 parents present. Everywhere there was a hive of industry with the children making free choice of play and activity while parents join in the fun and the supervisor moved around giving a kindly word of advice and encouragement. Above Mr. W. Lundy is repairing a screen while his son Mark is sawing a piece of wood for the boat which he is making."
