"Visiting New Children's Library"
- Description
This image was taken for a story that ran in The Manawatu Evening Standard on 28th February 1963. "Some of the Palmerston North Central Play Centre children who visited the new children's library in Cross Street yesterday. It was the first visit for some, who enrolled as library members, and all were obviously fascinated by the array of books. The centre children will probably pay a weekly visit to the library. Although the room was prepared and painted some weeks ago, the books were taken from the central library shelves, put on trolleys and transported to the new site on Friday and Monday last."
