-
This image was taken for the June 11th 1978, edition of the Tribune weekly newspaper, and was published with the caption: “Members of the Rural Bank's board of directors called on Kairanga farmer Mr R. K. Coulson during their recent visit to the Manawatu (June 1). The bank's directors toured farms in the Manawatu and Wairarapa during their two days on the road, and at Mr Coulson's farm saw the type of cropping that can be achieved on Manawatu's best soils. Here, Mr Coulson (on ladder), checks out one of his wheat silos for the benefit of Mr Dryden Spring (left), Sir William Dunlop (centre, a former president of Federated Farmers), and Mr H. R. Pickering (a former Cabinet Minister).”
